Seclud(e, v. Also: seclwd, secluid, secclud. P.p. also seclude. [Late ME and e.m.E. seclude (1451), seclud (1599), L. sēclūdere to shut off.]

1. tr. To shut out, exclude, debar (a person) from association with oneself or others, from participation in some action or activity, or from an entitlement, privilege, office, etc. a.
