Hald, Hauld, Had, v. Also: hald(e, hauld(e, haild, haud, hawd, had, hadd, hade, haid. P.t. held, helle, heald, heild, hild, hyld(e, helt. P.p. haldin, -ine, -yn, -en, haldne, hauldin(g, had(d)in; hald, hold; haleing (? erron.). [Northern ME. hald (p.t. held, hild, p.p. halden), ME. holde(n, halde(n, ONhb. halda, WS. healdan (p.t. héold, p.p. ᵹehalden, -healden).]The usual forms are: inf. hald, hauld, had; p.t. held; p.p. haldin, hauldin, had(d)in.
