¶WODE, int. A euphemistic alteration of God used expletively. Cf. Od.Lnk. a.1779 D. Graham Writings (1883) II. 62:
Wode I think ye're a cumstrarie piece o' stuff. . . . Wode she said you could do naething but scure wash mugs.
