WALD, n.1 Also uald (see Strae, n., 1. (21)). Dyer's rocket, Reseda luteola, which yields a yellow dye. Sc. 1743  R. Maxwell Select Trans. 368:
For every Pound of Yarn allow three fourths of a Pound good English Wald.
