VAITY-KABE, n. Also vaitti kabe; vettikeb, vat(i)keb (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)). An upright piece of wood, fixed on the gunwale of a fishing-boat, and having a notch in which the fishing-line can run when being cast or hauled in (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1914 Angus Gl.).
