I. adv. In the country, up country, in a rural area. Arch.Sc. 1895 H. Haliburton Dunbar 94:

II. n. The upper or higher part of a district.Fif. 1827 W. Tennant Papistry 65:
Till to Dun-nino's upponland He cam.
