UNLAWFUL, adj. Sc. Law usage of a day of the week on which no legal business may be transacted, i.e. in effect Sundays and public holidays. See lawfu s.v. Law, n.1Sc. 1752 J. Louthian Forms of Process 222:
The second District was to begin the Tenth Day of October 1708, and that being an unlawful Day, on the next lawful Day thereafter.
