TWAINGIE, n. A nook or corner, in phr. to turn a twaingie wi, see quot.Rnf. c.1850 Crawfurd MSS. (N.L.S.) T. 171:
“I'll turn a twaingie wi ye yet” — a threat signifying “I'se forgether wi ye at a neuk or a twaingie, when ye leukna for it, to hae a mends of you.”
