TEEMSE, n., v. Also teams, teems (Rxb. 1825 Jam.); tims(e). [timz; temz]

I. n. A fine sieve of hair or gauze generally used to sift flour (Rxb. 1825 Jam.; Bwk. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XI. 183). Now only dial. in Eng.Rxb. 1729 Sc. Hist. Review V. 269:
A pair of ‘hair teams.'

II. v. To sift flour, etc. (Bwk., Rxb. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XI. 183). Now only dial. in Eng.s.Sc. 1809 T. Donaldson Poems 73:
For sifting meal it suits me weel, Or timsing flour when wantin'.
