SURFEIT, adj. Sc. usage: excessive, immoderate, esp. in a bad sense, cruel, intemperate in behaviour, overbearing.Dmf. 1894 Trans. Dmf. and Gall. Antiq. Soc. 156:

“A surfeit bodie”, one who had something over and above an ordinary human nature which caused him to speak ungraciously to those dependent on him.
