STURROCH, n. Also sturoch. Oatmeal stirred together with milk or water, a kind of Brose, Drammoch (Per. 1825 Jam.). Cf. Stourie. [′stʌrəx]Per. 1857 J. Stewart Sketches 30:
Tak' a wee pickle meal on the road to mak' sturroch.

[Prob. orig. a variant of stourach s.v. Stourie but altered by conflation with Stur, to stir.]
