STRAITIE, n. Also stretti; strat(t)i (Jak.). The shank or foreleg in man or animals, esp. sheep, also the hough or upper part of the leg (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1908 Jak. (1928), 1914 Angus Gl., stretti); a leg of mutton, esp. when the bone begins to be uncovered (Sh. 1963). [′strɛte]
