†STRABBLE, n., v.
I. n. A long, withered stalk of grass, a piece of straw, thread, twine, anything wispy and straggling (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 184). Also in Nhb. dial. Ad,. strabblie, full of long fibres (Id.).Gregor:
The kail's nae richt chappit: they're unco strabblie.
II. v. To hang loosely in long tatters, to straggle (Ib.).
