SQUAW, n. A quagmire, a wet, splashy place. Used attrib. in combs. squaw-egg, an addled or infertile egg, one that splashes when shaken (Cai. 1971). Cf. Jaw, I. 4.(2); †squaw-hole, a broad, shallow, muddy pond (Lnk. 1825 Jam.). [skwɑ:]
