haw An expression used to attract someone's attention: 'Haw mister, got the right time?'
Gsw. 1991 John Burrowes Mother Glasgow 20:
He could hear them asking if such and such a person was with them and there were louder shouts, women's names that rang out in the night like distress calls ... 'Haw Mag'ret', 'Hey Ina', 'C'mon Sadie'. They were the noisiest of all the groups that had come out of the Old Judge.
