MACANDREWIA. Zool. A genus of fossil sponge (1859 Gray in Proc. Zool. Soc. London XXVII. 438), now called Frenulina. Other derivs. Macandrewites, a sponge of the cretaceous period (1880 Sollas in Ann. & Mag. Nat. Hist. (5) VI. 389); Macandrevia, an Upper Miocene brachypod (1859 King in Proc. Dublin Univ. Bot.-Assoc. I. (5) 256).
