BOSWELLIA. Bot. A genus of incensebearing shrubs, Burseraceae, found in India, Persia, Arabia and Africa (1795 W. Roxburgh Plants Coromandel III. 207).
[Named after John Boswell of Auchinleck (1710–60), uncle of Johnson's biographer and curator of the Botanical Society of Edinburgh.]
