EENTY-PINS, adv. phr. See quot.Ags. 1958:
i.e. “even to the pins”. The pins are the two metal stays fixed to the far side of a bogey for transporting logs to prevent these from going over the edge. These are laid “even to the pins” before the rest of the load is piled on top; on their security depends the safety of the load.
