SLUNK, n.2 Also sloonk-. A long lean lank person or animal (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), ‡Sh. 1970). Adj. sloonky, lean, emaciated (Ork. 1970). [sluŋk]Ork. 1930 Orcadian (13 Feb.):
Sloonky was a word applied to a "lang sloonky chiel o' a man." Also used in speaking of a fish — a sloonky codling, a puir sloonky codling.
