SLANTER, n. A sloping outcrop of rock.Peb. 1872 Trans. Highl. Soc. 233:
The hillside covered with slanters and dotted over with hawthorns, rises boldly from the plain . . . That slanters, so common in the country, should have considerable influence from reflection on the crops in the immediate neighbourhood cannot be doubted.
