SØL, v. To stir up mixed fodder for cattle (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)). Deriv. sølek, a warm drink mixed with oatmeal and nitre given to a cow after calving, a drench (Sh. 1962); in gen., dregs, e.g. of sheep-dip after dipping (Ib.); fig. badly prepared or unsavoury food (Jak.). [søl]
