SESTER, n. Only in pl.: the channel in the floor of a cowshed behind the stalls into which the urine, etc. runs, the Oddle, q.v. (Ork. 1929 Marw.).Ork. 1911 J. Omond 80 Years Ago 16:
Behind them [cattle] is a drain 18 inches wide by 1 foot deep, called the sesters, odler, or odle.

[Norw. dial. sesse-tre, a log or plank behind a cow-stall on which the milkingstool (sess) rests.]
