SENTRICE, n. The wooden vaulting erected during the building of the arch of a bridge, in quot. used to mean scaffolding. Arch.Sc. 1926 H. M'Diarmid Drunk Man 54–55:
And we maun braird anither tip Oot owre us ere we wither tae, And join the sentrice skeleton As coral insects big their reefs.
