SCREE, v.2 Also skri. intr. To get along, manage, over a period, difficulty, etc., last out, tr. to be sufficient for, tide (one) over, freq. with prep. ower, or adv. by, on (Sh. 1904 E.D.D., 1914 Angus Gl., Sh. 1969). [skri:]Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.:
I may scree on — I may manage to get on in some way.
Sh. 1894 Williamson MSS. (25 Jan.):
If he's a muirkovi, we might skri by wi what's in.
Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
De craeter will maybe skri ower de winter. As mony peats as will skri ower de helli.
