I. v. To shake or rock backwards and forwards, to be unsteady, to totter (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1914 Angus Gl., Sh. 1968). Adjs. ruglet, rugli(e), shaky, unsteady, insecure (Sh. 1914 Angus Gl., Sh. 1968).Sh. 1879 Shetland Times (10 May):
He stepped on a “ruglie” stone.
Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
A ruglet sten, a ruglie sten. To sit ruglin on a chair.

II. n. A roundish, insecure stepping-stone (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)).
