ROOKIT, adj.? The word is nonce and of uncertain authenticity, prob. formed to rhyme with brookit, but phs. suggested by riggit s.v. Rig, n.1Abd. 1948 Sandy Candy (Montgomerie) 54:
Foo mony hoggies hiv ye the day? A black and a brookit, a reid and a rookit.
