I. n. A rough, uncouth creature; a hoydenish girl; a person, gen. a woman, of rough or ungainly appearance (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 141; Bnff., Abd. 1930).Abd. 1921 T.S.D.C.:
That rechnie o' a mole. A rechnie o' a' quine.

II. adj. Rough in appearance or manner (‡Bnff. 1904 E.D.D.).
