†QUADRULAPSE, n. Also quadre-. A fourth lapse or fall, gen. in reference to offences under church discipline. Cf. Dulapse, Trilapse, etc. Also attrib.Sc. 1709 W. Steuart Collections iii. xi. § 11:
Fornicators are to make profession of their repentance three several Sabbaths; who are guilty of a relapse therein, six Sabbaths; who are guilty of a trilapse, twenty-six Sabbaths; and of a quadrilapse, three quarters of a year, all in sackcloth.Gall. 1718 Session Bk. Minnigaff (1939) 316:
