PRECARIOUS, adj. Also precahrious (Bch. 1930 Abd. Univ. Mag. (March) 106). Sc. Law usage in comb. precarious loan, a loan held by the favour and during the pleasure of the lender without further condition or specification, a Precarium. [‡prə′kɑriəs]Sc. 1773 Erskine Institute III. i. § 25:
As a precarious loan may be recalled at the lender's pleasure, even at a time that may prove hurtful to the borrower, the borrower is liable only de dolo et culpa lata.
