POSITIVE, adj. Sc. usage. Of persons: fixed in one's determination, immoveable, unshakeable, adamant, pig-headed, obstinate (n. and m.Sc. 1966).Dmf. 1715 Bk. Caerlaverock (Fraser 1873) II. 211:
Seeing your Ladyship so positive for our coming home.
Fif. 1767 Abd. Journal (19 Jan.):
A woman . . . having been at Falkland on Saturday last upon business, and staying pretty late, was intreated not to go home till next day; but the woman being positive, missed her way and fell among the snow in a hollow road.
