PENT, n. Sc. usage: a temporary type of sheep-shelter consisting of a large flat screen of wood or similar material leaning against a wall or fence.Kcb. 1911 Crockett Smugglers v.:
She crawled out into a kind of shelter where the sheep hide on snowy, drifty days (the herds call them “pents”).
