OWERQUALL, v. Also ouerquall. To overwhelm, overrun, to be covered over with dirt. Cf. Eng. †overquell, to quell, overcome, subdue. See Quall.Rxb. 1825 Jam.:
Ouerquall'd wi' dirt, excessively dirty.
s.Sc. 1897 E. Hamilton Outlaws v.:
We're just ower-qualled wi' beasts. There's a whale [sic] ferkishin' o' them the noo in the park.
