OWERFAULD, v., n. Also owre-. Sc. forms of Eng. overfold. See Fauld, v.1 [v. ʌu(ə)r′fǫl(d), n. ′ʌu(ə)r-]

I. v. To enfold, enwrap. Rare and obs. in Eng.Abd. 1927 E. S. Rae Hansel fae Hame 45:
When Nature's gloom owre-faulds me kin', And quate the nicht.

II. n. That part of a stocking which is folded over at the top.Kcb. 1894 Crockett Lilac Sunbonnet iv.:
The bonny “rig-an'-fur” stockin' that I knitted mysel' frae the cast on o' the owerfauld to the bonny white forefit.
