NIBBET, adj. Also deriv. nibbety (Marw.). [′nɪbət]

1. Of clothes: tight or close-fitting, cut rather short.Ork. 1929 Marw.:
Dunno mak that leg so nibbet as the ither.

2. Of a calf's horns: budded, undeveloped.Ib.:
No right horns still, but just nibbet things.

[Prob. a ppl. form from Norw. dial. neppa, to pinch, squeeze, draw together, with formal and semantic influence from Nip. For 2., ? cf. also Norw. dial. nibbutt, sharp. pointed.]
