MURT-FIN, n.comb. Given as the second dorsal fin of a fish, esp. of a salmon.Slk. 1817 Hogg Tales (1874) 150:
I soon saw by the bells coming up, that there was a fish in the auld hauld; I sees his blue murt fin.
