MORKIN, n. Also morken; merkin (Dmf., Slk. 1925 Trans. Dmf. and Gall. Antiq. Soc. XIII. 32). A sheep that has died by disease or accident (Sc. 1887 Jam.). Also attrib.Ayr. 1786 Burns Poems Gl.:
Braxie, a morkin sheep.
