MISTIME, v. Sc. usage: to keep irregular hours with consequent loss of sleep; to depart from one's regular routine (Sc. 1903 E.D.D.; ne.Sc., Ags. 1963). Also in Eng. dial. Gen. in derivs. and ppl.: mistimeous, irregular, unpunctual, unreliable (Cai. 1903 E.D.D.; Abd. 1911, Mry.1 1925), ill-timed, inconvenient (Bnff. 1963); untidy, slovenly (Cai.4 c.1920, Cai. 1963); mistiming, irregularity in timing, lack of punctuality; mistimed.Dmb. 1844 W. Cross Disruption xxxii.:
This illness Maun have maid Him less fit to thole Ony mistiming either of Meet or Sleep.
Abd.7 1925:
Of one who had not got to bed regularly for a time, it will be said that he "has been mistimed."
