MISRED, v. Also misrid; misread. [mɪs′rɛd]

1. To tangle, to snarl. Ppl.adj. misred, misrid, tangled, involved, confused (Gall. 1825 Jam.; Sh., Cai., Kcb. 1963). Cf. Redd, Rid.Kcb. 1789 D. Davidson Seasons 10:
A rackless coof O' Prentice Wabster lad, who breaks his spool And wastes the waft upo' a mis-rid purn.
Slk. a.1835 Hogg Tales (1874) 282:
That's a lang story, mither, and a misred ane.
