MIGINNICH, n. Also mugganach (Abd. 1908 in J. G. Michie Deeside Tales 292). Appar. = alas, worse luck (to), defeat. The form is uncertain and is repeated by Ellis as migrinnich.Abd. c.1782 Ellis E.E.P. V. 774:
Lat them dunt it oot eenoo — juist a fair shak an' the best man eemost an miginnich tae the nyowmost.
