LARICK, n. Also larrick, laurick; lairack, -ick, lerrick. The larch tree, Larix europaea, or its wood (Per., Fif., Ayr. 1915–26 Wilson; Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.; Bwk. 1942 Wettstein; n. and em.Sc., Dmf. 1960). Also attrib. Comb. foggy-larrick, moss-grown larch bark, smoked by boys as a substitute for tobacco. [′lɑrɪk, ′ler-]Bnff. 1798 W. Cramond Ch. Grange 125:
