KLEEBIE, n. Also klib(b)i. A heated stone plunged into buttermilk to separate the curd from the whey (Sh. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 126, 1908 Jak. (1928)); a sinker for a fishing handline (Jak.). [′klibi]

[A reduced dim. form of kleeber s.v. Klebber, the stone used commonly being soapstone.]
