JINKET, v. A variant form of Eng. junket, to feast, make merry. The use in the second quot. seems to have been influenced by Jink, v., 4. Only in Scott, in vbl.n.Sc. 1824 Scott St Ronan's W. x.:
It's the jinketing and the jirbling with tea and with trumpery that brings our nobles to ninepence.
Ib. ii.:
He has her aften jinketing about, and back and forward, wi' a' the fine flichtering fools that come yonder.
