The Shetlander sometimes uttered his word of command to the fairies in much briefer language, such as — “Skeet howe hame, guid folk.”

[The word is glossed as “quickly,” which seems an error, but, if authentic, the whole may have been corrupted from some longer phr. including the word How, n.2]
