HEEPIE, adj., n. Also heepy.

I. adj. Half-witted, soft in the head (Cai. 1956).Peb. 1817 R. D. C. Brown Comic Poems 171:

II. n. A hypochondriac, a melancholy person (Rnf. 1788 E. Picken Poems Gl.); a fool, a stupid person (Sc. 1808 Jam.).Sc. 1721 Ramsay Poems (S.T.S.) I. 76:
Auld Maggy kend the Wyt, and sneer'd, Caw'd her a poor daft Heepy.
