HARROWER, n. A young horse or mare, “chiefly the latter, unbroken to the plough but used for harrowing” (Per. 1769 Survey Lochtayside (S.H.S.) Intro. lxiii.).Ib. lxi., 159:
The souming in these tacks is stated to be a certain number of cows and a certain number of “horses or mares, harrowers included.” Lickbuy. Stocking and sowing . . . Cows 24, Horses 4, Harrowers 4, Sheep 120.
