HALLIRAKUS, n. A giddy, hare-brained person (Abd., Mearns 1825 Jam.). Also used attrib.Abd. 1813 W. Beattie Parings (1873) 28:
Fat keeps that hallirakus scum, The tailor, 'at he winna come.
Fif. 1864 W. D. Latto T. Bodkin xxx.:
Mrs Davidson . . . was a daft hallirakus that could never think hersel' happy if she wasna fechtin' for the maistery ower her neebors.
