GRACH, v. To be grasping, avaricious, to scrounge (Bch. 1920). Hence gracher, a grasping person, a “scrounger” (Ib.), a hoarder of trifles. [grɑx]Abd. 1951 People's Journal (26 May):
“Gracher,” used in Buchan to describe a person who picks up odds and ends, usually for nothing. It refers also to a person who collects things from a genuine desire to be thrifty and economical.
