GLAIKERY, n. Light, foolish conduct, coquetry; deception (Sh.10 1954. rare).Per. 1816 J. Duff Poems 81:
Oh! wad ye listen to a sound advice, Ye'd quite yere glaikery, an' at last be wise.
Ayr. 1879 J. White Jottings 152:
To pay the Deil is mair than fun, When in his grips, Or clear the fankl'd skenes that's spun, In glaik'ry's trips.

[Glaik + suff. -ery, with coll. or intensive force. Glaikrie is found in O.Sc. from a.1568.]
