GALDERIE, -Y, n. Also galdrey, galderi. A large, bare, barn-like room or building (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1914 Angus Gl.; Ork. 1929 Marw.; ‡Sh. 1953); “an empty, open building through which the wind blows; an open, draughty space” (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), galderi). [′gɑld(ə)ri]Ork. 1929 Marw.:
A muckle galderie o' a hoose, like a kirk.
Sh. 1949 J. Gray Lowrie 95:
