FYKERIE, n. Also fikery. Fuss, fussiness, fastidiousness over trifles (Ayr. 1825 Jam., Fif.10 1942; Sh.12, wm.Sc.1 1953). [Sc. ′fəikəri, Sh. ′fik-]Edb. 1823 Misses Corbett Petticoat Tales I. 330:
I dinna ken how ye do, Jeanie. . . . but I couldna be fashed wi' sic fikery.
Ayr. 1823 Galt Entail xxxv.:
I canna understand . . . whar for a' this fykerie's about a lump o' yird?
